Job Description: | Departmental Information NIH-funded position in mucosal immunology is currently available to study the mechanisms of mucosal interventions for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 diabetes. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to be involved in basic and translational research using novel therapeutics to treat autoimmunity. Studies will involve the identification of T cell mechanisms of protection against virulent challenge with wild-type microorganisms. Applicants must have a M.D. or Ph.D. in immunology, microbiology, or related discipline, and the ability to design experiments relevant to testing and analyzing treatment modalities. Preferred candidates should have cellular immunology and vaccine experience. Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include: 1. test existing and new therapeutics to treat rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 diabetes using murine models. |
Expected Salary: | $54,840, commensurate with experience. |
Minimum Requirements: | 1. Doctoral degree, preferably a Ph.D. in Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or closely related field. |
Preferred Qualifications: | 1. Molecular biology experience. |
