We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate. We have demonstrated novel regulator mechanisms of heterotypic platelet-neutrophil interactions under thromboinflammatory conditions, including atherothrombosis, vasculitis, ischemia/reperfusion injury, and sickle cell disease (Li et al. JCI 2014; Barazia et al. Blood 2015; Kim et al. Blood 2017; Li et al. Circulation 2019). The postdoc associate will study the molecular mechanisms mediating the cell-cell interaction in thromboinflammation or cancer using the state-of-the-art techniques including, but not limited to, real-time confocal intravital microscopy, gene knockdown/editing systems, confocal/FRET microscopy, in situ and in vivo proximity ligation assays, and animal disease models.
1. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree (preference: the candidate who is expected to receive the degree)
2. Previous experience in cell/molecular biology and mouse disease models (preference: a mouse model of sickle cell disease, thrombosis, or cancer (e.g., xenografts))
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and
4. First author papers in premier journals
The postdoc associate should be eligible for employment in the U.S. Start date is immediate. This is a non-tenure, benefit-eligible position. PI will help the postdoc associate develop his/her career by providing a highly interactive and exciting research environment and by encouraging the preparation of research papers, application of postdoctoral fellowships, and participation at national meetings.
