The Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine and Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children's Hospital is seeking applicants for the Postdoctoral Associate research position. The Postdoc will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary research team aimed at understanding the cellular constituents of brain circuits in both health and diseases.

The specific goals of this position will be to use patch clamp recordings, single-cell RNA-sequencing, machine learning, and sophisticated genetics tools to decipher cellular constituents of brain circuits across cortical areas and species with molecular, electrophysiological, and functional annotations.

• Utilize patch clamp recordings, single-cell RNA-sequencing, machine learning, and sophisticated genetics tools to decipher cellular constituents of brain circuits across cortical areas and species with molecular, electrophysiological, and functional annotations.
• Probe and define the cellular constituents of brain circuits in both health and diseases.
• Evaluate and analyze advanced research data.
• Summarize research findings and publish results in research journals.

• Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• Experience: None required.

• Previous experience in single-cell RNA-sequencing and bioinformatics analyses of large sequencing datasets.
• Previous experience with developing new bioinformatic methods.
• Previous experience in vitro whole-cell patch recoding.
