Job Description Summary:
A postdoctoral fellow is needed to assist in performing cellular, molecular, and genetic studies to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) progression to Invasive Ductal carcinoma. These studies will utilize a combination of in vivo and in vitro experimental model systems.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in biology, pathology, biochemistry, or related sciences with a minimum of three years of research experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of histology, previous experience in biomedical research. Three to five years previous laboratory experience with molecular biology and cell biology techniques.
Job Duties Outlined:
Utilizing mouse models and performing in vivo analysis to study molecular mechanisms of invasion in primary DCIS cells and cell lines
Generation of molecular biology tools to study DCIS. Performing gene expression adn proteomic studies. Analysis of data and planning future experiments. Immaculate record keeping of data and reagents.
Organizing and record keeping of data from research for writing manuscripts and presentations at scientific meetings
Regular presentation and discussion of data with the superior and follow instructions related to the scientific projects
Assist in manuscript writing and grant preparation
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
