Full Job Description
The MBL is seeking candidates for a DOE-funded two-year Postdoctoral Scientist in the laboratory of Zoe Cardon in the Ecosystems Center. The position will be available this fall, with flexible start date extending into spring based on postdoc needs and COVID restrictions. The postdoc will participate in an interdisciplinary, inter-institutional project focused on mechanisms by which plant roots and associated microbes can dislodge organic matter from soil minerals. The postdoc will primarily be responsible for greenhouse experiments, with ample time to expand work to include e.g. ‘omics, mechanisms underlying mineral-OM interactions, plant physiology/chemistry/allocation, and/or ELM-based modeling, depending on postdoc interest.
Education
Required: PhD minimum, preferably in plant, microbial, or soil ecology.
