Available Position: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Eye Research
Institution: Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA
Position Description: The Chen lab at Boston Children’s Hospital Department of Ophthalmology is welcoming highly motivated candidates to fill two postdoctoral research fellow positions (available immediately) to study retinal angiogenesis and neuronal degeneration in eye diseases (NIH-funded). These positions involve using both genetic and pharmacological approaches in animal models to study the mechanisms and identify potential therapeutics for:
1) pathological angiogenesis in vascular eye diseases, and
2) retinal neuronal and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) degeneration in age-related macular degeneration.
Position #1 has a specific focus on the molecular basis underlying Wnt signaling-mediated blood-retinal barrier control and vascular leakage; and Position #2 focuses on nuclear receptors in chronic ocular inflammation during retinal aging and neuronal/RPE degeneration.
The salary is based on NIH standard. Detailed information of the lab’s work can be found at:

Requirement:
M.D. or Ph.D. in ophthalmology, visual science, biomedical science, cell biology, molecular biology, or related fields with 0-2 years of experience.
Experience in wet bench lab work highly desirable, including cell culture and small animal research.
Experience and knowledge in eye research preferred but not required.
